Hi, I’m Saul Reisman here at Saul’s AUTOTEK and today we’re talking about this 2003 Subaru Outback.
Now while Subaru is a very common car here in Colorado, let alone the Outback itself, one thing that is not very common about this one is its six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine known as the H6. While the majority of Subaru Motor vehicles sold in North America were equipped with a two-liter or 2.5-liter four-cylinder horizontally opposed engine, there are a select few that were equipped with the H6. Many of them were in the either LL Bean Edition Outbacks or in some of the higher trim model Forresters. These were sold as having a greater engine power, more reliability, and a little bit more serviceability as well.
Not a very common engine, so if you do need service on yours here at Saul’s AUTOTEK we service plenty of them down to total teardowns, in the case of this guy getting head gaskets, timing service, and the entire front cover repaired and replaced. We’ve got this engine out on the stands so that we can get this guy back into a happy shape. This vehicle is 15 years old, has 225,000 miles, and we are literally just removing, resealing the heads, and replacing as we would with any other four-cylinder Subaru.
Now we know a lot of the time when you’re looking for quotes for prices you can call around and find 10 different people with very competitive quotes.
