We are going to talk about the most common brand of vehicle that comes in for service, Ford Motorcraft Corporation, along with the most common types of repairs we see for them.
We’re talking today about a 2004 Ford Explorer, and in this case, the vehicle experienced an engine failure.
This 1997 Ford Escort made it 19 years, and the reason it’s here today is pretty basic. It needs an oil change, basic tune-ups, spark plugs, wires and a couple of minor sensors to keep it chugging it along.
When Ford produced the Ranger they anticipated they would sell 50- to 100,000 a year. They sold over 300,000 a year for the past 25 years. As a result we see many, many, many Ford Rangers getting regular maintenance service to keep them on the road as long as possible.
While to us this may seem like just a trim or just a cosmetic piece, this little piece of plastic might be the rarest component on this car. Those little pieces are very, very rare on older cars because they weren’t manufactured a lot and they got damaged often, so owners down the road would often be at junkyards, looking to take those parts to replace them on their own.
