Hi there. I’m Saul here at Saul’s Automotive, and we’re gonna take a look today at a slightly more heavy duty for a medium to heavy duty truck or van, brake rotor, and braking capsulated hub design.
Now, the main difference between this big heavy rotor brakes and our standard rotor brakes is that the hub is part of the assembly itself. There are a few different reasons for this design. The first being that on heavier vehicles, the lug studs themselves where your wheels bolt to will typically wear out the threads over time and damage them, and they often need to be replaced. Part of making this design is so that they can get replaced when the brakes are serviced making this a one, two punch.
At the same time, your wheel bearings that rotate and keep your wheels spinning smoothly in the vehicle are encapsulated into this hub. So that every time the brake rotor is changed, each individual wheel bearing that sits in the inner and outer portion here can be removed, repacked with grease, resealed, and reassembled. The olden days of a true lube, oil, and filter meant lubricating the bearings and joints.
Now, truck and heavy-duty chassis design has not evolved terribly much compared to your standard small vehicles in the past 50 years. This design has been implemented for almost a century. The way that we’re able to service these on all medium and heavy-duty truck allows us to service the bearings, seals, studs, lugs, and bolts every single time the brakes are inspected. That means the majority of your front end safety components are getting checked, serviced and maintained each and every time your brakes are diagnosed.
At Saul’s Automotive, we service lots of medium and heavy duty truck. We offer factory replacement brakes and we also offer significant performance upgrades for your larger, heavier vehicles to better assist with mountain braking especially for commercial usage. We also offer lifetime guarantees on commercial use brakes which is something you will not find anywhere else.
If you have any questions about these or if you need brakes on your heavy van or truck, please stop by or give us a call at any point. We are here 365 days a year, so you can work the rest of them. Give us a call at 303-919-7769.
